The 2009 organ study tour is the third in a series of distinctive tours designed and led by Faythe and Keith for organists, students, and organ enthusiasts. On the 2005 journey, Faythe’s and Keith’s group visited numerous Baroque and Romantic instruments in former East Germany, including the Berliner Dom’s Sauer organ; Silbermann organs at Trinity Cathedral in Dresden, the Pfarrkirche in Crostau, and Rotha’s St. George; the Woehl organ at Thomaskirche in Leipzig; St. Wenzel-Kirche’s (Naumburg) Hildebrandt organ; and the Ladegast organ at Merseburg’s Dom. Immersing themselves in all things French, participants on the 2007 tour were thrilled with visits to organs in Chartres, Poitiers, Versailles, and of course, the magnificent French capital city, Paris. Among the highlights of the 2007 list were the 1787 Cliquot at Cathedral St-Pierre in Poitiers, the 1868 Cavaille-Col at Eglise de la Trinite, and the 1781 Cliquot at Eglise Saint Sulpice. In addition to the marvelous organs, the group was treated to a champagne reception at Chateau de Versailles!
