Including a visit to Floriade 2012
Join long-time tour hosts Eilof and Harriet Rusticus on a one-of-a-kind fall vacation in Northern Europe! Arriving in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, we’ll be delighted with the sights—and scents—at the Aalsmeer Flower Auction and we’ll enjoy a tour of picturesque Kasteel de Haar. Then we’ll embark on a seven-night cruise on Germany’s Rhine and Moselle Rivers. Later, we’ll return to the Netherlands to visit Arnhem’s Open-Air Museum, Floriade—the amazing international horticultural showcase, Volendam and Amsterdam. And every step of the way, the Rusticuses will be on hand to insure that you have a wonderful vacation!
Ports of call include:
- Düsseldorf
- Andernach
- Cochem
- Boppard
- Coblence
- Remagen
- Cologne
Most of the Rembrandt’s ports of call are an easy walk from where the ship will be tied up and the Rusticuses will point the way and offer suggestions and assistance. In addition, a variety of optional excursions and activities will be available for purchase during the cruise.
Our “floating hotel” on Germany’s waterways is the M.P.S. Rembrandt van Rijn, a lovely Dutch river cruiser. The Rembrandt can accommodate up to 125 passengers, all in outside cabins. The cabins are divided between the Main and Promenade Decks. All of the cabins are the same size and feature large windows, private facilities, safe, desk, telephone, hairdryer, and individually-controlled air-conditioning.
The ship’s public areas include a cozy restaurant and library on the Main Deck. The reception desk, souvenir shop and comfortable lounge are on the Promenade Deck. A fitness area and deck chairs can be found on the Sun Deck. The Main and Promenade Decks are connected by stairs and an elevator; the Promenade and Sun Decks by stairs.
