Bike and Barge Tour of the Netherlands

Join experienced tour host Bruce Buursma and fine friend Mike Van Denend on an unforgettable and scenic tour through the cultural heart of Holland next summer. You’ll sail along or bike through some of the Netherlands’ most beautiful coastal dunelands, meandering rivers, glorious gardens and charming cities.

You’ll bike 40 kilometers (about 28 miles) per day at a comfortable pace through historic Dutch towns such as Haarlem, Leiden, Delft, and Gouda, as well as a visit to Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its towering forest of windmills.

Your host:

Bruce Buursma is a writer who has traveled widely and especially enjoys biking through the low countries of Europe. As a journalist, Bruce covered religion for the Chicago Tribune and reported from more than 50 countries around the globe and earned recognition as a Pulitzer Prize finalist. Currently an independent consultant who produces videos and crafts written messages for clients, Bruce lives near the Lake Michigan shoreline in Grand Haven, Michigan. He travels both for work and pleasure.
